My Story

My country ranks among the top 10 globally in social media usage, yet it also places in the top 5 lowest on the Digital Civility Index. All too often, people encounter smear campaigns, ad hominem attacks, and public denouncing even over private matters have became a common thing. Yet rarely have the means to counteract doxing, as hacking are seldom found here.

​Imagine a global public trial, judges every word you’ve ever spoken, every faults you made over decades, every connection you ever had join for outrage, and you are locked outside that courtroom. Yes it has befallen me, perhaps the first target of a global doxing campaign in Vietnam, and possibily one of rarely those in the world to remain wholly unaware of the systematic defamation being waged against my name. ​

 

Rarely a day goes by without communication attack and threaten of jailing for my intention to speak up or fight for my rights like it's illegal. It reminds the book Nothing To Envy by Barbara Demick, life of the people with no freedom in choice, no future options, live under 24/7 surveillance and forced isolation from the rest of the world. Everyday became the relentless chase to escape the ruling, I tried, and my family members were punished.​

THE TRUE MOTIVE

So everyone is convinced that privacy violation and abuse is a legitimate act, kindly let me tell my story. In Vietnam you can buy any type of medicines without showing prescription in any pharmacy, and stimulant for focus and cognitive enhancer is sold through various sites on the internet. We may know, even it's prescription, it's a one-click popular thing even in strict country, among healthy people and students around the world. I'm just happened to be one of those dude who shared it with familiar customers who purchased supplements from my business. Didn't even make more than 1.000$ average a year from that. But 3 years ago I made a mistake that I honestly regret: lied to a customer since I thought it could help her. Out of ignorance hope to calm her anxiety.

In Vietnam, every month they found new fake supplement/medicines production chain on germy chicken farm or billions income of someone who sell vegetable gummy contained unlisted laxative and still no one has the right to hack them down and broadcast their private life to the world. I'm the easy target. The attack happened out of hatetress, digged up every private message and stimulant was a legitimate reason to expoit my contact list and customers to start a worldwide smear campaign. Did the attacker know I involve with stimulant? Yes they knew for years and had no comment on that until recently it becomes a reason to jail me. "Deadly sleeping pill" is how the narrative was spread and got the whole country turned their back against me, labeled as harming people's health. Not knowing 99% people purchased on their own will and rarely a case I would suggest if it's not their wish.

Is it a legitimate reason to public my privacy worldwide? I made a public apology, closed my business and would take any legal penalty but No, let me hack your whole family, disclose all sensitive information and ban you worldwide. Every form of abusive was occured and international law was violated behind the amour of "moral lesson" and couldn't stop their hype then decide to sue me when I speak up about their act? If I have to pay the price for my mistake twice then how about them?

Every mistake we made was a lesson paid by tear, sweat and blood. Why someone should be punished for their decade of growth one more time, all at once? Why someone have the right to control your life and eliminate your work oppoturnity worldwide? Even government wouldn't be authorized to do that. Public shaming and humiliating someone in their 30 for what they did in their early 20? I'm not saying this because I'm a victim, but if it happens to anyone else, I couldn't think it will be ever a reasonable act.

Right to privacy is not only to protect your personal data at the present, but also to ensure individual's development of their life is autonomous without being pepertue specific action they performed in the past, their past information is bound to remain confidential.

After 8 months of unauthorized disclosure and exposure of private sensitive information on worldwide scale serves as self-interest purpose. The effort to monitor location, interference associations, and communications is simply to protect for their own safety infront of civil law. The case has raised voices of people led to their effort to criminalize the taget with the misuse of gorverment legislation to silence the victim permanently, and deter others from exposing their human rights abuse and information that they want to hide. Despite many misinformations were clarified, the continuous use to broadcast to the public raises serious questions as to whether they care about truth or present as many reason as possible just to support for their actions.
